Dubois Elementary's very own Ms. Antonacci has won the District 186 Rising Star Award! We are SO proud of you!
After receiving many nominations from the community, coworkers, and students, a committee made up of community partners selected this year’s honorees. Superintendent Jennifer Gill, along with Katie Hageman-Hageman Family Insurance and her team, and Horace Mann had the special opportunity to surprise each winner with a banner for their classroom door and a basket of goodies, making the moment even more memorable.

GMS Cheer and Poms Informational Meeting

Congratulations to Hanaya from 2nd grade for representing Dubois at the district's annual visual art fair! Her artwork was chosen by Ms. Marcy for its creativity and artistic skill. Way to go Hanaya!

Testing for all grades continues on March 10th, 11th, & 12th.
Additionally, 5th graders will be completing the science assessment on Friday morning.
It is very important that students are not only at school each day but are also at school on time. Once testing begins, students will not be allowed to enter their classrooms, which means they will have to test later in an unfamiliar environment. We want our Dragons to do their absolute best!
So, we need to see them bright and early BEFORE 8:30 each morning!
We need students to be in 100% attendance and on time each day of testing.
Lastly, please help your students BREATHE each day of testing:
Breathe deeply.
Rest well the night before.
Eat a healthy breakfast.
Always read the test directions.
Take your time. No need to rush. (Students will be rewarded for not rushing through the test).
Have confidence in yourself to do your very best.
Energize by stretching during breaks.
Thank you for your continued support!

State testing begins tomorrow!
Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Dragons will begin taking the IAR state assessments on Wednesday, March 4th! This is the required state test for Illinois and composes 75% of our school report card score.
We will test the mornings of:
March 4th & 5th
March 10th, 11th, & 12th
Additionally, 5th graders will be completing the science assessment the mornings of March 9th & 13th.

Dubois Families -
Please complete the Illinois 5Essentials Survey if you have not already. We need 20% of families to complete the survey, currently we only have 11% responding.
This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. As a parent/guardian, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school.
We need at least 20% of our families to complete this state mandated survey. Please complete the survey for each of your Dubois students. We appreciate your help!
